Terms and Conditions — A Place to Pause Retreats

By booking a retreat, you agree to the following:

1. Bookings and Payment
Full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your place. If payment is not received, your booking will not be secured.

2. Cancellations and Credits
Retreat bookings are non-refundable.

If you are unable to attend, you may:

  • Transfer your booking to another person (must be advised in writing at least 48 hours prior to the retreat).

  • Request a credit toward a future retreat (must be advised in writing).

If we are able to re-sell your place, a refund will be forwarded at our discretion (less any fees). If we cancel or reschedule the retreat, you will receive the choice of a full refund or credit.

Please note: as our accommodation is booked through external providers, all cancellations are also subject to their terms and conditions. This may affect our ability to issue refunds or credits.

3. Accommodation, Meals and Transport
Your retreat fee includes accommodation, stated meals, and scheduled activities unless otherwise stated. Room allocations are based on booking type (private or shared) and subject to availability. Guests are responsible for their own transport to and from the retreat venue, as well as any transfers required during the retreat. A Place to Pause does not provide transport services as part of the retreat. Guests must also comply with all house rules of the accommodation provider, including check-in/out times, property care requirements, and restrictions on noise, smoking, or parties.

4. Changes to Program
We may adjust the retreat schedule, facilitators, or venue if required by unforeseen circumstances. In the event of extreme weather or a CFA-declared Code Red Fire Danger Day, the retreat may be postponed or relocated in line with the accommodation provider’s policies.

5. Guest Conduct
Respectful behaviour is required at all times. Disruptive, threatening, or inappropriate conduct — including breaches of accommodation provider rules — may result in removal from the retreat without refund. Smoking is not permitted at any time.

6. Photography and Promotion
Photos and video may be taken during the retreat for marketing purposes. You may opt out by notifying us in writing prior to the retreat.

7. Privacy
Your personal information will only be used for retreat coordination and will not be shared without consent.

8. Health, Dietary and Medical Responsibility
By attending, you confirm you are in suitable health to participate. We have limited ability to cater for dietary requirements due to shared kitchen facilities. Any dietary requirements must be checked with us prior to booking. While we will do our best to accommodate, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment and accept no liability for adverse reactions. Retreats are not therapeutic or medical in nature.

9. Personal Belongings
A Place to Pause accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings. Guests are responsible for keeping valuables secure.

10. Assistance Animals and Accessibility
Pets are not permitted at retreats. Registered assistance animals are welcome by prior arrangement. Some venues may have accessibility limitations — please contact us before booking if you have additional needs.

11. Limitation of Liability
Participation in the retreat, including travel to and from the venue, is at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, A Place to Pause Retreats are not liable for any injury, illness, loss, damage, or expenses incurred.

12. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays, changes, or cancellations caused by events outside our control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, public health emergencies, or venue closures.

13. No Guarantee of Outcome
While we aim to provide a relaxing, restorative experience, outcomes vary by individual. No specific results or experiences are guaranteed.

14. Agreement to Terms
By paying for your booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
